Behind the Formulas: FAQs
-
Because fresher is better. Making products in small batches means they don’t sit around for long periods, and we can pay close attention to every detail—so you get skincare that’s made carefully and performs the way it should.
-
We use a preservative system called Optiphen Plus to protect our products from bacteria, mold, and yeast. Because our formulations contain water, preservation is essential for safety.
While it isn’t fully plant-derived, we chose it because it’s a gentle, widely used option that keeps products safe and stable without using parabens or formaldehyde-releasing preservatives.
-
Any skincare product that contains water can grow bacteria, mold, and yeast over time. Without a preservative, a product can become unsafe to use—even if it looks and smells fine.
We include a preservative to ensure our products stay safe, stable, and effective from the first use to the last.
-
Our products typically last 6–12 months after opening, depending on the product and how it’s stored. We recommend keeping them in a cool, dry place and avoiding introducing water into the container to help maintain freshness.
-
Because we make small-batch skincare without heavy synthetic stabilizers or extended shelf-life boosters, our products are designed to be fresher and more active.
Mass-produced products often include additional preservatives or stabilizing systems that allow them to sit on shelves for longer periods. We prioritize a more intentional formulation approach, which results in a shorter, but more natural and fresh, shelf life.
